Maarava Mikan, Jordan Chaviv and More of Your Requests

A mix show of Jewish/Israeli hits including:

* Maarava Mikan - Elokai Neshama - I get numerous requests for Lo Tira, the Gush Katif anthem and Tovia Singer Show theme. But it is this song that the Gush Katif group's rare and only album says is their hit single.
* Jordan Chaviv - We Will Survive - This new singer has also become a fixture on the Tovia Singer Show. Every time I play him, I get emails for more.
* Miki Shaviv - A new single from this funky Israeli singer
* DJ Hillel Goldblum - Ed, I know this is your favorite singer. Hope you liked this one!
* Beit Habubot - a new single form this popular Israeli band
* Kfir Epstein - a brand new singer with nothing but a single and a MySpace. He sounds good!
* Idan Reichel - Gary, hope you like this. It's the less reggae and more world-beat sounding version.
* Eden MiQedem - More funky middle-east fusion going out to a listener in Austria who says he lives in "a desert of Jewish music."
* Ziggy Elman - And the Angels Sing - Benny Goodman's sideman developed this based on Yiddish and klezmer roots.
* Maury Epstein - jazzy Carlebach
* HaTapuchim - Natri BaMakom - a quirky fun sample-based electronica track from a Kol HaCampus compilation CD I got at the Uganda comic book store/bar/record store in the Russian Compound of Jerusalem.
* Rabbi David Zeller - a listener once told me they cried when they heard this song, so I had to play it again.
* plus our guess-that-song CD give-away of the week. (no, it's not The Jungle Book!)
